Despite missing key players, the Washington Wizards secured a 132-118 NBA Cup win against the Atlanta Hawks, snapping their 14-game losing streak, and CJ McCollum’s hot hand was the catalyst behind the victory.

McCollum finished with 46 points, five rebounds, and four assists on 17-for-25 shooting from the field. He also made 10 three-pointers, tying the Washington Wizards’ franchise record for threes in a game, set by Trevor Ariza, his former teammate at the Portland Trail Blazers.
“That’s my guy (Trevor Ariza), I want to break it now that I know it’s him. He’s a really good dude… I enjoyed my time with him,” McCollum said via Chase Hughes on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Following last night’s performance, McCollum now has the fifth-most games in NBA history with at least 10 three-pointers made, trailing only Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and James Harden.
Washington Wizards News: Alex Sarr opens up on playing without Tre Johnson and Kyshawn George
Alex Sarr shouldered a heavier offensive load for the Washington Wizards, as they were without Tre Johnson and Kyshawn George. The Frenchman answered the call with 27 points, 11 rebounds, two steals, and two blocks on 11-for-15 shooting from the field.

“Yeah, we definitely miss those guys out there… It’s just next man up. We’re sharing the ball a lot, I feel like. First half, second half too. That worked for us,” Sarr said via Joshua Valdez of Athlon Sports.
In the blowout victory, Corey Kispert, Khris Middleton, and Bub Carrington also scored in double digits, chipping in 19, 10, and 10 points, respectively.
