The Washington Wizards own the No. 14 and the No. 26 picks of the 2024 NBA Draft. Apparently, they want to move up to target a player who could make a more immediate impact on the squad.
In order to do so, the Wizards are reportedly actively shopping Kyle Kuzma on the trade market in order to potentially move up in the draft.
Washington Wizards News: Kyle Kuzma Trade Could Be Coming
NBA insider Evan Sidery of Forbes Sports reported that the Wizards remain keen on moving Kuzma if this will net them a higher pick in Wednesday’s draft:
“The Wizards remain active in trade discussions centered around Kyle Kuzma as well. Washington could attach Kuzma alongside Nos. 14 or 26 to move up even higher in the draft from their current slots. Kuzma and Malcolm Brogdon are players who might still be on the move tonight,” Sidery wrote.
Kuzma still has three years remaining on his current deal, wherein he will earn an average of around $21 million per season. At 28, the one-time NBA champ may no longer fall within Washington’s timeline as they look to inject more youth into the squad.
At this point, it would not be a surprise if Kuzma ends up with a different team on draft day.
