With Lebron James’ 10+ Streak Ending at 1,297 Games, 2 Players Are Next in Line But Catching Lakers Star Might Be Impossible

Lebron James’ legacy will continue but his incredible feat of having 10+ points in 1297 straight games that spanned 17 seasons has come to an end. The Los Angeles Lakers star tallied just 8 points in their win over the Toronto Raptors, which necessitated him giving up a pass to Rui Hachimura to get a buzzer-beating win.

James has no problem with this specific streak ending as he is still all about winning the game.

LeBron: “Win lose or draw, I always make the right play. … That’s how I was raised. That’s how I’ve always played the game.”

    — Lakers Daily (@LakersDailyCom) December 5, 2025

He also has a reaction to those criticizing his style of play.

“That’s one of the most foolish things I’ve ever heard as far as making the right pass, making the right play,” he told reporters after the game.

“We are in the business of winning basketball games. … I’ve won at every single level by playing that way.”

The amazing part about this achievement by the four-time MVP is that he has more finals appearances than games with 9 points or less.

LeBron has MORE Finals appearances than games with single-digit points 🤯

And his streak ended on a game-winning dime. Unreal.

KD, SGA are next to Lebron James

What James just did is inhuman. Statistics show his 1297 might be something that no one can surpass as the active NBA player next to him is Kevin Durant and he only has 267. Up next is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander who has 170.

Just to visualize how big the gap is https://t.co/mcbmqCLx0x pic.twitter.com/pVvxRC4thF

    — J. Medi (@MediJo20) December 5, 2025

Sports commentator Nick Wright made a calculation on how KD and SGA can surpass Lebron and it spells I-M-P-O-S-S-I-B-L-E.

With LeBron’s streak of 1,297 consecutive games with 10+ points snapped, the next two longest active streaks are KD at 267 & SGA 170.

So, if SGA never misses a game, and hits 10+ every night, he can catch LeBron early in the 2039-2040 season when he’s 41 years old.

    Good luck!

KD is already 37 years old so he got around 3 more playing years.  SGA’s case is more probable but then there’s not much player who can play at a high level like Lebron.
