Khris Middleton’s time with the Milwaukee Bucks suddenly ended in February when the Wisconsin organization decided to trade him to the Washington Wizards for Kyle Kuzma. It was a bittersweet separation for the two parties. It did not help, too, that the team did not get what they were looking for Kuzma in the playoffs whereas K-Midd is more known as a playoff riser.

The three-time All-Star did not see the trade coming but he is grateful to Milwaukee for his legacy-building stint with them, culminated by a 2021 championship. He will go down as one of the team’s greatest, something seen both on his impact in the community as well as the the numbers.
He already faced the Bucks last season since the trade although it was held in Wizards’ Capital One Arena. The Wednesday game opening night will be his first time back at Fiserv Forum and to him, it is going to be something special.
“That place has meant a lot to me. It’s gonna be a special night, it’s gonna be an emotional night for me,” he told reporter Bijan Todd during practice.
“It’s going to be a fun night all in all.”

Khris Middleton’s place in Bucks history
Middleton rose from being unknown, just a throw-in in the package that got the Bucks Brandon Knight in a deal for Brandon Jennings, to an All-Star. He ended up as Milwaukee’s career leader in 3-pointers and third in franchise all-time scoring.
“It has to be the hardest thing transactionally that I’ve ever done, from the human side of it, the roster side of it, the culture of the team, our community,” general manager Jon Horst said about the painful decision to let K-Midd go.

He is known as a playoff riser for the team, especially during their championship run in 2021. He willed the team during the games Giannis Antetokounmpo missed the Eastern Conference finals. He also record 40-point games in finals against the Phoenix Suns.
The Bucks are expected to give him a tribute video when steps on the Fiserv Forum floors next week.
For now, his goal is to beat the Bucks and help the Wizards build a culture as one of their more experienced players.
