WNBA players and fans are definitely not happy with the latest update of the ongoing negotiations. The league has put out a new CBA proposal, which was recently shared by the Associated Press, which not only includes revenue sharing but also a maximum salary of $1.1million.

The negotiations are becoming slightly tense with the extension expiring in a few days. With this new proposal, the minimum salary would be easily more than $220,000. This new minimum salary is definitely more than what players were offered last year.

A panel discussion for students on women’s basketball during a Cleveland WNBA event, Sept. 16, 2025, features (from left) Cavaliers in-arena host Kierra Cotton, WNBA VP of Ticket Sales and Service Kiersten Green, Cleveland WNBA President of Business Operations Allison Howard, WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert and WNBA Director of Youth Basketball Operations Jessica Davis.

“WNBA officials updated the board on the latest proposal at meetings this week, the person told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because ongoing negotiations are private. The new league minimum would be more than $220,000 with an average of more than $460,000. Those numbers would start in the first year of the deal for more than 180 players and increase over the length of the CBA. People familiar with the WNBA’s latest proposal described the plan to the AP as a highly lucrative package providing substantial increases over prior years and designed to bring negotiations to a quick conclusion.” Associated Press reported lately.

This new offer is definitely not everything that the WNBA players originally asked for. In their proposal, the W players asked for chartered flights and more benefits. The players asked for a revenue-sharing model, which the league has now offered. But, whether the players will be happy with this new offer still stands in question.
