A’ja Wilson is loved by many, but she also seems to have developed a bit of hate of late. WNBA fans had a lot to say after Wilson added another milestone to her career. Wilson had an outstanding season with the Aces after earning her fourth MVP award.
She was recently named the TIME athlete of the year, and she was also named the Jr. WNBA Global Ambassador back in July. The WNBA took to X to share a message from Wilson about connecting with the youth and what it means to stand in the same places she once stood.

While the league posted it on their X account, WNBA fans dropped mixed reactions to the post. Some of them were not kind, while some continued to appreciate her. Here are some reactions from X.
“Your Global ambassador is a known racist? Ew,” wrote one fan.

“I am who I am because I’m black and privileged in this league and have a special whistle”. “Learn how pay off the refs and you can be just like me,” another fan wrote.
“I think she is only a Global Ambassador for Black Girls, per her book and her racist comments towards all other racial groups online that are still up on Twitter right now,” one fan chimed in.
WNBA Fans Continued To Drop Wild Comments On A’Ja Wilson
Several WNBA fans questioned whether Wilson was the right person to be Jr. WNBA Global Ambassador. Fans continued to drop wild reactions to the same.

“The WNBA needs to clean house of all its DEI hires before and after the CBA and the 2026 season. Consistent Revenue Growth will only continue if the racial, sexual, and jealousy biased are replaced with the smart sports/marketing minded,” another fan chimed in.

“Is she the right person for this? Her comments suggest she is a perpetual victim and racist. Will she treat young white girls the same as all other girls? I hope so,” one fan wrote.
“A role model,” responded another fan.
Wilson has several fans, but surprisingly, only a few offer her support. The Vegas player made several public comments that sparked controversy. WNBA fans remember what was told and didn’t hesitate to lash out at her.
