WNBA Fans are in a serious debate right now regarding Angel Reese’s college stint. On Tuesday, X/Twitter page @trendyhoopstars raised the question that the Chicago Sky star should’ve won the SEC Player of the Year at her first season with the LSU Tigers.

The page noted Reese’s dominance in that stint, where she led the conference in points and rebounds, while also being at the top five at blocks, a feat rarely achieved in college hoops.

While Reese’s stunts are indeed worthy of praise, some WNBA Fans couldn’t help but throw shade at the star.

One user, @Martydeek, wrote, “Winning 1 ring doesn’t make you an all time great. Dumb post,” believing that even the best accolades don’t equate to winning MVPs.

Some WNBA Fans chimed in, believing that the question regarding Reese winning a possible second SEC Player of the Year accolade is outdated.

“Trendy still posting about Angel Reese in college used to be kinda funny but I think it’s starting to get a little embarrassing,” one user wrote.

“She’s in the [W]NBA now where she’s trash. No one cares about college,” one user remarked, bringing out Reese’s struggles in the professional league in a very unfiltered manner.

“Her 3rd professional year is up next and this guy is still obsessed with amateur ball from years ago. Sure she’s made her team worse and they tied for the worst record, but college…” one user commented.

Despite the heated debate on what seems to be a missing piece in Reese’s college career, WNBA Fans cannot deny her true impact, both at the Tigers and Maryland Terrapins, in her first season. And every WNBA Fan, even the haters, has no say in the fact that Reese still won the SEC Player of the Year instantly in the next season.

WNBA Fans question Angel Reese hype by NBA Team

Meanwhile, some WNBA Fans can’t fathom the fact that Angel Reese, Chicago Sky star, deserves the hype from their NBA counterpart, the Chicago Bulls. She is often in attendance at the Bulls’ games, with the official X/Twitter page even posting a photo of her in a chic all-pink outfit.

While many WNBA Fans continue to show love to the Bayou Barbie, some Fans do the complete opposite. One user, @lucky_louie23, even brought up one of Reese’s heated statements last season.

Theywrote, “How does she afford court-side seats when she complains she doesn’t make any money in the wnba?”

The user’s reply did garner heated responses, calling him outdated and lacking context on the issue. Nevertheless, Reese’s influence on and off the court undeniably remains to attract many WNBA Fans.
