WNBA fans were quick to jump in for Angel Reese after an old clip of her sharing a hug with Boston Celtics assistant Sam Cassell popped back up online. Reese leaned in for what looked like a warm, familiar embrace with the former three-time NBA champ, but a fan twisted it by commenting, “i’m familiar with his game,” hinting at something else entirely.
That didn’t sit well with people who actually know the connection.

One fan replied, “Dude probably has known Angel since she was a young teenager. Everything isnt sexual.”

Another added, “he’s actually very close to angel and her family.”
A third wrote, “They from Baltimore chill out.”
Reese has been juggling plenty away from the league, but she’s easing her way back into full training as she gears up for her third WNBA season.
“Year 3 MVP”: WNBA fans hype up Angel Reese’s latest workout clips
Reese dropped a set of training clips this week — sprints, mid-range reps, just steady work — and fans ate it up. After a long season and a rocky year for Chicago, seeing her back in the gym gave people something to latch onto.

One said, “Year 3 MVP, as soon as we move her from that bum ass team.”

Another wrote, “She fully locked IN.”
A third added, “Can’t wait to see the Barbie back playing…”
Chicago’s 10–34 finish was rough from start to end, and Reese didn’t hide her frustration as things unraveled. Between the coaching situation, on-court chemistry, and the CBA talks still hanging over everything, she’s hoping 2026 looks nothing like last season. For now, though, she’s locked in and getting ready — and fans clearly haven’t lost any faith.
