WNBA Fans couldn’t get enough of making digs at Las Vegas Aces star A’Ja Wilson and her boyfriend, Bam Adebayo. This time, it’s when she’s in attendance during Adebayo’s Thursday match at Chicago’s United Center.
One X/Twitter user, @StevePeter72621, stood out with an unusual joke for both Wilson and Adebayo, writing, “He always plays better when his beard is watching,” which immediately confused many WNBA Fans, including user @micktheolddon, who replied, “His beard? Y’all say anything on this bird app man,” highlighting the weird banter Fans write.

However, some WNBA Fans decided to outright throw shade at Wilson, especially the special highlight she received from the NBA.
“Nobody care about the W bunch entitled whiners,” one user wrote.
“0 time good basketball player,” one user remarked.
“A’ja killing the vibe, not just the game,” one user commented.
User @ItsSelenaMaris even doubled down, refusing to believe in the impact of the WNBA and even Wilson’s own achievements, writing, “Stacked accolades for a league nobody watches. Showing up to a real basketball game doesn’t make her relevant. Empty seats and inflated stats are the only legacy here. Total participation trophy energy.”

Meanwhile, some WNBA Fans instead called out Adebayo, pointing out that he has yet to win championships with the Miami Heat; for comparison, Wilson already has three titles, all with the Las Vegas Aces. The pressure on the former is indeed high. Still, even that won’t harm their relationship, which began midway in 2024 and has blossomed since.
Also, neither the WNBA Fans nor Wilson failed to witness Adebayo’s action on the court that Thursday. After all, the NBA has decided to suspend the Heat vs Bulls match due to condensation issues brought by a recent NHL game, and an unusual warm, rainy day in Chicago then.
WNBA Fans show love to Wilson, Adebayo amidst jabs
Despite the trolls, both Wilson and Adebayo had received from the WNBA Fans, some Fans refuse to join the train and instead continue to show love for the power duo. Many X users, in fact, even threw goat emojis at Wilson, calling her arguably the best player of her era in the league.

One user, @2026pumpfun, made sure this particular side is heard, writing, “AJ Wilson bringing championship energy—WNBA royalty on the court [fire emojis].” Meanwhile, user @LLcoolK_ posted, “The best player in the WNBA no debate, numbers don’t lie,” backed by user @RoyalTeeATL, who wrote, “And that’s a fact!”

While some WNBA fans remain split on Wilson’s impact on the court, the broader reaction made it clear she still commands praise and support.
