Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham thought she was pulling a lighthearted prank on WNBA fans this week, but the reaction turned out to be a little mixed.
On Wednesday, Cunningham shared a GoFundMe with a $26,000 goal, joking about what the money could be used for.

“This is more of a joke than anything. For fines only or to charity or for a yacht idk…. Update: A yacht would be nice, but whatever we raise here will be going directly to Ronald McDonald House Charities. I’ll take care of my own fines. Y’all are the best,” Cunningham wrote.
Some fans found the humor in it. One replied,
“And here I was going to donate $1000 just to try to get on the yacht with you….🤣.”

Others weren’t as entertained, with one saying,
“Saying ‘this is a joke’ while you collect the money of hardworking people is not it.”
But plenty defended her, pointing to the charity angle.
“Give it to charity and give the haters the Stone Cold double middle fingers while drinking beers,” one fan suggested.

In the end, Cunningham confirmed every donation would go directly to Ronald McDonald House Charities, turning the prank into something positive.
WNBA Fans Call Kelsey Mitchell Extension a “No-Brainer”
The Indiana Fever may be in offseason mode, but the front office already has its biggest priority lined up — keeping Kelsey Mitchell in a Fever jersey.

“Our priority will be Kelsey Mitchell and making sure she remains in a Fever jersey,” COO and GM Amber Cox said in a post on the team’s socials.

Mitchell was the anchor for Indiana during a season full of setbacks, carrying the load when Caitlin Clark and several teammates were sidelined with injuries. Her steady play and leadership through the playoffs only reinforced her value.
Fans echoed that sentiment online.
One wrote,
“I would like to think this is obvious. Build around Kels, CC and AB. They are title contenders.”
Another added,
“Your priority better be making sure CC and Kelsey remain in Fever jerseys. That’s a one-two punch with Boston.”
Others pointed to health concerns, with one fan noting,
“Priority should be a new strength and conditioning concept. Even Kelsey fell victim at the end. Cost us the game, too.”

With Mitchell’s contract situation looming and Clark expected to return at full strength, Fever fans see a core of Mitchell, Clark, and Aliyah Boston as the team’s best shot at contending for a title.
