WNBA fans are split after Angel Reese walked the Victoria’s Secret runway in New York, showing off her growing fame beyond basketball. The 22-year-old Chicago Sky star was one of several athletes invited to the fashion event, and her confident stride instantly set social media buzzing.
The photos of Reese in designer lingerie were soon compared to Caitlin Clark, who was recently seen in a golf outfit during her off-season appearance.

A viral post by @gyezi_ placed their photos side by side, with WNBA fans quick to comment on the contrast between the two stars.

One user, @77_gatto, wrote,
“If Caitlin had a sexy body she would probably be flaunting it. Most modern women can’t resist that temptation.”
Another, @laughingcow5_O, joked,
“Caitlin looks like someone’s rich auntie who never married and lives with her ‘best friend’ but won’t ever come out as gay cuz her fans would cancel her.”
The comparisons drew strong reactions from WNBA fans, with some calling out the double standard. Many noted that while Reese was being celebrated for her confidence, Clark often gets framed as the “wholesome” counterpart. Others pointed out that both players are representing the league in their own way—Reese through fashion and Clark through sponsorships and appearances.
Caitlin Clark’s Golf Return Sparks Reactions From WNBA Fans
While Angel Reese was trending for walking the Victoria’s Secret runway, Caitlin Clark grabbed attention for a different reason—her return to competitive golf.

According to @CClarkReport,
“Caitlin Clark will make her return to The Annika this year to play the LPGA Tour’s pro-am on November 12.”

The Iowa legend, now with the Indiana Fever, has been using golf as both a hobby and a form of recovery following her groin injury late in the WNBA season.

WNBA Fans had plenty to say about it. @WayneWhaley1136 joked,
“I guess golf is a form of groin injury rehab process,”
while @Bricheese32 added,
“Guess I’m a golf fan again.”
Some believe the two represent different but valuable sides of what modern female athletes can be. One finds confidence on the runway, while the other finds peace on the green. Both attract massive attention, but for completely different reasons.
The fight for relevance continues with the WNBA. And the WNBA fans are still in discussion with how the league’s players can keep up the fight. Branching out individual athlete’s brands? Participating elsewhere off season? One thing is for sure, having more eyes that these ladies bring to the league is a good problem to have.
