Paige Bueckers continues to show love for her roots — and WNBA fans can’t get enough of it.
On Tuesday, the 2025 WNBA Rookie of the Year was spotted courtside at the Armed Forces Classic, cheering for her former squad, the UConn Huskies, as they faced Louisville. The moment didn’t just spark nostalgia for UConn fans — it also sent social media buzzing, especially since Bueckers was there supporting her girlfriend, Azzi Fudd.

One fan playfully corrected ESPN’s caption, writing, “And supporting her girlfriend too.”

Another added, “True athletes lift others even off the court.”
A third posted, “Support like Paige’s shows the bond between teammates lasts forever.”
Before going No. 1 overall to the Dallas Wings, Bueckers led UConn to its first National Championship, cementing her place as one of the program’s most iconic players. Now, even as a pro, she’s proving that her connection to the Huskies is still strong.

The official UConn Women’s Basketball account posted a photo of Paige with the caption:
“like how did you get our warmup top, you don’t even go here.”
Bueckers quickly fired back, replying, “Too late to take my 6th year?”
The comment section went wild.
One fan joked, “Did Geno get the password to this account or something?”
Another wrote, “I think she had her uniform under that top too — she was ready to sub in.”
A third chimed in, “It’s never too late. Go back.”
In her senior season, Bueckers fulfilled her promise to UConn legend Geno Auriemma — bringing the program back to championship glory. She left as a national champion and one of the faces of women’s college basketball.
Now in the WNBA, she’s carried that same drive to the next level, collecting Rookie of the Year honors and an All-Star nod — all while keeping her Husky pride close to heart.
