WNBA fans had a hard time picking a winner when Paige Bueckers and Caitlin Clark went head-to-head at Team USA’s training camp.
A clip went viral showing Bueckers faking Clark before sinking a three-pointer, and reactions flooded social media.

@elvraps gave Bueckers credit but leaned toward Clark: “paige got the edge, caitlin’s tough tho.”
Some fans took a broader view. @kungfukenn_eth wrote, “Paige, Caitlin, Aja, Kelsey (Mitchell and Plum), etc are really moving the game forward for women.”

The camp ran December 12–14 at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, preparing players for the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup in Berlin, scheduled for September 4–13.

@Amy_Siskind fired off: “Saying that now. Then you’ll be trashing your golden goose all season long.”
@liyawhis questioned the league’s timing: “u wanna acknowledge her now?”
And @MJ841968 reminded followers of WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert’s previous words: “I’m suprized y’all even know who she is. According the commish she would be thanking her for everything she has.”
Despite the chatter, the camp gave fans a rare look at Clark, Bueckers, and other top talent playing together. The scrimmage showed their skills, competitive drive, and teamwork, while also highlighting the league’s growing star power.
Whether debating who’s better or critiquing the WNBA, the spotlight on these players keeps getting brighter. WNBA Fans were treated to highlights of elite talent while being reminded that the future of women’s basketball is in very capable hands.
