WNBA fans are reacting wildly to a tweet recalling the infamous prisoner exchange between the United States and Russia a few years back. Under President Joe Biden, Brittney Griner was exchanged for Viktor Bout, who is otherwise known as the ‘Merchant of Death.’

While many showed solidarity for Griner finally coming home after being detained for about ten months for drug charges, others felt that the prisoner exchange was pretty unfair since Bout was a very dangerous man. It looks like the tweet resurfaced some pretty gnarly memories for many WNBA fans.

“Remember when Biden traded the Lord of War for a WNBA player who was caught with weed? Good times.” HardPass4 tweeted.

“you think He remembers that?” one fan asked.

“I was listening to Treasury’s War hearing what he had done and the planning and execution that took place to capture him. Only could shake my head in disbelief…” another fan said.

“Remember the part where the United States let him free and used him to supply nations we can’t be seen doing business with?” one more fan said.

WNBA Fans Continue To Troll Biden, Recalling Brittney Griner Exchange

It looks like a majority of WNBA fans are certainly not too happy with Brittney Griner’s return to the country, especially since it cost the US Viktor Bout. More and more fans are heaping condemnation on Joe Biden for this prisoner exchange, which many deem as a no-win situation.

“You could literally fill a page with embarrassing screwups from his administration people have forgotten. Too much to remember.” One fan said.

“If anyone from the WNBA who could’ve made it in prison, it was Brittney Griner too.” one more fan speculated.

“We rlly gave them some killer for a lesbian who can’t go left,” another fan joked.

While many fans are clearly angry with the Biden administration for this prisoner exchange, others are taking the opportunity to troll Griner herself. Griner has had her share of lesbian and transgender jokes in the past, with many refusing to call her a woman.

Some point out her deep voice and state that this is more than enough reason for her to be labeled a man. Others are mocking her performance on the court. However, Griner seems to be strongly ignoring all of these jokes and has not addressed them directly until now.
