DiJonai Carrington’s recent interview has sparked another heated exchange among WNBA fans, and this time, Lexie Hull’s name got pulled into the mix. Carrington, known for her confidence on and off the court, spoke about her hopes for the future of the league — and credited Angel Reese for being brave enough to take risks that have opened doors for other players.

“DiJonai with a beautiful answer about her hopes for the future of the WNBA,” wrote @backindacloset. “Also credits Angel for taking risks and opening doors for current players and younger generations.”

That comment was enough to start a wave of reactions.
“This is what a Stanford grad & WNBA ambassador sounds like,” said @Ku_Lo_Snooze. “Lexie needs to take notes.” It wasn’t meant to be harsh, but WNBA fans quickly interpreted it as a dig at Hull, another Stanford alum who has largely stayed quiet off the court.
Not everyone saw things the same way, though. Some WNBA fans pointed out that when Forbes released its list of the 20 most powerful women in sports, Angel Reese wasn’t on it — but Caitlin Clark and A’ja Wilson were.
“I don’t see Angel on this list but I do see someone else, y’all know who I be talking about?” posted @Rfox6445Fox, highlighting how influence can take different forms.
Lexie Hull and the Fever Fallout: WNBA Fans Still Question DeWanna Bonner’s Exit
Long after the season ended, Indiana Fever fans are still talking about what really happened when veteran DeWanna Bonner suddenly left the team. And as WNBA fans revisit the situation, Lexie Hull’s name has once again come up.

“Lexie Hull reflects on DeWanna Bonner’s exit,” wrote @caitlinclarksty, quoting Hull directly: “I was super, super, super excited because finally there’s a [player in my position] that I can look up to… I can learn something from her. And then she randomly leaves, and we’re all just kind of like, ‘What happened?’ We were never given an explanation.”

The quote reopened discussions about what might have happened behind closed doors.
“Part of me believes this was plan all along,” said @ROTK_. “Sign with them and then destabilize them from within. That’s how shady the veterans are in this league, I wouldn’t put it past them.”

Others criticized the organization for not addressing the issue directly.
“To this day Fever management has refused in public to be critical of what she did — that is and was a huge disservice to all current players,” added @bearseneca.
The conversation reflects how passionate WNBA fans have become about accountability and transparency. While most teams move on from drama quietly, the Fever’s case lingers because fans feel the silence left more questions than answers.
The situation has become a reminder of how unpredictable professional basketball can be. Because in a sport where every move is magnified, clarity matters as much as chemistry.
