WNBA fans were cracking up online after Wendell Carter Jr. gave the strongest hint yet about his rumored relationship with Chicago Sky star Angel Reese. The Orlando Magic big man joined FanDuel’s “Run It Back” this week, and when the hosts brought up the dating rumors, he couldn’t hide much of anything.
“That’s the homie for sure,” Carter Jr. said. “We’re locked in… y’all gonna find out when y’all need to find out. That’s my girl though.”

The grin on his face did most of the talking, and NBA and WNBA fans immediately turned the moment into a comedy thread. As Carter tried to downplay things, fans saw the perfect chance to poke fun at both hoopers.
One fan joked, “But will he fix her layups?”

Another fired back, “Perfect for each other they both bricks.”
A third piled on with, “Draymond Green gonna choke out Wendell next game.”
Reese and Carter have been loosely tied together since May when he showed up at her 23rd birthday party. Two months later, he popped up again at the WNBA All-Star Game wearing a shirt with her face printed huge across the front — basically a soft launch without saying a word. Whether they eventually confirm the relationship or keep letting moments like this do the work, WNBA fans clearly have no plans of easing up on the jokes.
“Angel Reese is so much better”: WNBA fans defend Angel after heckling incident
Even during the WNBA offseason, Angel Reese can’t fully escape the spotlight. Her name wound up in the middle of an NBA storyline on Sunday, during the Warriors’ 124-106 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. A courtside fan heckled Draymond Green throughout the night, repeatedly calling him “Angel Reese.”

Green eventually walked over to confront the fan, and security removed the heckler shortly after. The comparison didn’t sit right with WNBA fans, who quickly pushed back online.
One fan wrote, “That fan is nuts! Angel Reese is so much better.”

Another said, “How dare you insult Angel like that.”
A third added, “He kept calling him a woman, so Draymond responded like one.”
It’s been that kind of offseason for Reese — even when she’s not playing, her name stays loud, and WNBA fans are ready to have her back at every turn.
