“She Would Take $500k Over A Date With Herself”: WNBA Fans Get Creative On Choosing Between An Angel Reese Date Or $500K

Angel Reese just can’t catch a break from WNBA fans. A new viral photo of the Chi-Town Barbie sparked another round of mockery, with fans joking about whether they’d rather take $500,000 or go on a date with her.

One fan wrote, “She would take $500k over a date with herself.”

Another added, “I mean, it’s a lot. But if I have to pay half a mil to avoid dating her, I guess I pay it.”

A third joked, “Dude, I would take five dollars.”

The WNBA star has never shied away from the spotlight, though. Angel Reese has leaned into her image, embracing the “Bayou Barbie” brand that made her one of the league’s most recognizable names. Just recently, she turned heads at the 2025 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, making history alongside Olympian Sunisa Lee as the first WNBA players to hit that runway.

Still, hoops fans will have to wait a bit before seeing her back on the court. Reese is skipping the upcoming season of the Unrivaled League, choosing to take a longer break before returning to action.

“Must buy”: WNBA fans react to Angel Reese’s sneaker’s new colorway

While the internet trolls keep talking, Angel Reese keeps winning — literally and financially. The Reebok athlete just unveiled a fresh colorway of her signature shoe, the Angel Reese 1, and fans are all over it.

On Sunday, Reebok dropped a few photos of Reese rocking her new kicks, dubbed the Tiago King, named after her beloved teacup Yorkie.

One fan said, “Oh yeah. These match a few bags I have. Must buy.”

Another added, “Damn I’m not even gonna lie these are kinda fire lmao.”

A third wrote, “This is clean.”

The design pulls directly from her dog’s soft beige and tan fur — a nod to the pup that’s become a big part of her off-court personality.

“I find inspiration everywhere, and I knew I had to create a colorway in honor of my baby boy, Tiago, the dog who brings me so much love and joy,” Reese said in a press statement.

So while fans debate whether they’d take the half-million or a date, Reese is busy cashing in — staying stylish, making history, and showing why confidence really does pay.
