WNBA fans were treated to a guessing game after Sneaker Legal reported that Nike filed a new trademark earlier this month.
The application described “a bucket design incorporating the stylized letters PB within the design.” That was enough to spark speculation.

@ArtieAGIA guessed NBA ties: “Patrick Baldwin Jr., obviously.”
@EHughes527 played with words, hinting at Steph Curry’s sneaker free agency: “Pteph Burry.”
While the debate continues, the logo already resembles the one Paige Bueckers used last year when she became the first NIL athlete to launch a Nike PE basketball sneaker. Her Nike GT Hustle 3 PE featured her favorite colors, UConn and Minnesota area codes, the phrase “Be You, Be Great” from her dad, and “Buckets” stamped on the heel.
“Worst WBB logo”: WNBA fans throw verdict on Paige Bueckers’ logo
The trademark didn’t just spark curiosity — it also drew sharp verdicts from WNBA fans.

@808sandTacos harshly said, “That will 100% take the title of worst WBB logo, holy s**t it’s bad.”

@MarshallErick16 noted that the sportswear giants needs to step up their game, saying, “I swear Nike used to be good at this.”
And @JustMikesCards felt for Bueckers: “Paige Bueckers branded stuff would slap, but… I absolutely hate this logo.”
For now, the mystery remains. But WNBA fans have already made it clear: if the PB mark is tied to Paige Bueckers, Nike has work to do to win them over.
