“Free Paige From Holly”: WNBA Fans Goes Blunt Seeing Paige Bueckers With Holly Rowe Longhons Football Game

Paige Bueckers’ showing up at the Texas Longhorns vs. Oklahoma Sooners football game had WNBA fans talking more than the game itself. The UConn star was spotted on the sidelines beside ESPN reporter Holly Rowe — and it didn’t take long before fans online made it a meme moment.

X user @TylerDeLuca shared the clip, saying,

“Paige Bueckers throwing the horns up in the crowd at OU Texas in an interview with Holly Rowe.” That was all it took for WNBA fans to start reacting. What seemed like a harmless appearance quickly turned into a trend of playful complaints.

Another fan, @ebknowing, didn’t hold back, posting,

“Free Paige from Holly.” The reply section filled up fast, with people joking that Rowe has turned Bueckers into a full-time sideline co-host.

    User @Tai76 simply added,

“Please,” which summed up how many WNBA fans felt about seeing their favorite college star attached to a reporter instead of a basketball court.

It’s already the off-season, and it’s not even a WNBA game. But the fans, and not just WNBA fans, have been watching and following Paige’s career with interest. So it’s no surprise that she still manages to catch attention even when she’s just another spectator like us.

Paige Bueckers’ Age Sparks Fresh Debate Among WNBA Fans

After her football game appearance went viral, WNBA fans found another reason to talk about Paige Bueckers — her age. What started as light-hearted banter turned into a debate about whether she’s been getting too much credit compared to younger stars.

User @Fredbenz0 kicked off the discussion, posting,

“Age matters here folks… Just like Paige Bueckers? Already older than Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston, Sonia Citron, etc. She’s supposed to then come out more prepared and not given as much credit.”

People are recognizing what’s happening here…Cooper Flag should still be in High School

Someone like an Ace Bailey is already 19yrs old

    — Winning On An Industrial Scale (@Fredbenz0) October 12, 2025

That claim surprised many WNBA fans, since Bueckers and Clark are often spoken of as rivals from the same generation. User @zakklemmerrr responded,

“Paige and Caitlin are the same class in high school bruh,” pointing out that while Paige was born in October 2001, Clark followed in January 2002 — barely a few months apart.

    Another poster, @balldontTy, added,

“Paige is older than CC?? wtf lol,” echoing what many realized for the first time.

The WNBA fans have a sharp eye for the little details and sometimes they can see a pattern and make comparisons. Bueckers’ early fame at UConn and extended stay in college have made her career timeline look longer. But we sometimes forget that she’s still roughly the same age as most of her draft peers, just with a story that’s taken a different path.
