WNBA fans recently reacted to a viral clip that showed an unusual moment from one one-time out moment form NBA 2K26, which showed an interaction between Paige Bueckers and Minnesota Timberwolves star Julius Randl.
Over at social media platform X, one account posted a video snippet from a session from NBA 2K26, where they had Paige Bueckers and Julius Randle play together in a team. During a timeout moment, Radnle’s model reached out and gave Bueckers’ model a tap on the butt. NBA fans gave a mix of humorous reactions, with one fan noticing how Randle’s character model really made the effort to pull the gesture off.

Some fans took notice of the model for Anthony Edrwars, who stood in the middle of Bueckers and Randle. He moved just in time so Randle can reach for what he was reaching for.
“This was coordinated lmao,” one fan said. “Y’all see the way Ant leaned forward too. Classic pick and roll offense.”
“Ant was in on it he moved in sync with that n***a,” another fan echoed in agreement.
The clip came from the video game NBA 2K26, particularly the game’s MyTEAM mode. This mode lets players build their own team for a mix of playable NBA and WNBA characters, which was why Paige Bueckers, who is playing in the NWBA for the Dallas Wings, was able to be in a team with Randle, playing in the NBA for the Wolves.
This mode gave fans most of their fantasy team-ups and rivalries, with some mixing up stars from the NBA and the WNBA, or sometimes pitting them against each other. The mode was first introduced during NBA 2K13 as a way of giving fans a platform in exploring their wildest basketball team-ups and fantasy teams in a video game.

Over at X, WNBA fans poked fun at how character models in NBA 2K26 ended up having Julius Randle slap Paige Bueckers during a timeout. For one fan, the moment is a peak video game development achievement.

Another one thought it would be hilarious if someone would add sound effects to the clapping.
“omeone need to add a BOING! sound effect to this,” they said.
Another, on the other hand, pointed out how Bueckers seemed unfazed by the slapping.
“Rude she didn’t even acknowledge her teammate,” they said.
Right now, NBA 2K26 is in its third season, giving WNBA fans more opportunity to mine for meme material from the game.
