WNBA fans are massively reacting to DeWanna Bonner’s departure from the Fever, despite it happening several months ago. Bonner announced that she was leaving the team a few games into the season, shocking both her teammates and fans. While she did not exactly give a reason for her exit from the team, Fever fans are clearly not ready to forgive her.
Bonner went on to join her former team, the Mercury, which worked out pretty well for her since they were able to reach the finals against the Aces. While the topic didn’t come out much, Fever’s Lexie Hull spoke out on Bonner’s sudden departure in a recent interview with Glamour Magazine. Hull admitted that she was originally excited to play alongside Bonner, and her exit disappointed her. However, the incident only pulled the team closer together.

“The funny thing is for the new wnba fans generation which is basically 90% of all the fans. To the new generation she will always be known as DeQuitter (laughing with tears emoji x7)” one WNBA fan said about DeWanna Bonner.
“DEWANNA BONNER, A QUITTER AND LEFT FEVER TEAM HIGH N DRY BECAUSE OF JEALOUSY. FEVER FAN WILL NEVER FORGET THIS!!” another fan called out Bonner.
“Bonner will forever be remembered as a played (player) who quit on her team and refused to play, after being accepted with open arms by players and fans, to start the season.” still another fan echoed.
WNBA Fans Have Mixed Reactions On Whether Or Not DeWanna Bonner Should Be Forgiven
While many WNBA fans clearly look like they are not going to forgive DeWanna Bonner anytime soon, many others came forward with mixed reactions. Some felt that the player did the right thing for her career, while others called it ‘good riddance’ and said she was not in her best form anyway.

“Sounds cultish who’s this angry with a player that left their organization. Sylvia Fowles and Elena Della Donne have done it. I’m sure more players have left in season.” one fan said.

“Yeah but…she’s not worth the energy to be honest. In the end, the Fever dodged a bullet when she left. She’s selfish & would not fit with the Fever Team that she left behind who are all truly selfless people, ready to do whatever the team needed. I’ll put my energy into them” a fan felt.
“That’s understandable…she’ll probably use your tears as polish for her rings” another fan justified Bonner.

DeWanna Bonner is yet to respond to Lexie Hull’s statements about her exit and it is not exactly clear as to what personal reasons were behind her exit from Fever. WNBA fans, who definitely love drama, will be hoping for a documentary about this sometime soon.
