Sophie Cunningham got WNBA fans buzzing this week after her quick stop in New York for a Good Morning America guest appearance.
She wasn’t there to talk hoops — this time, it was all about Arby’s. Cunningham showed up as a spokesperson for the brand, which instantly had fans teasing her about a possible career switch.

“Can you just imagine?” she joked on X, posting a clip of herself delivering GMA’s iconic line.

That one post was enough to get WNBA fans worried. The idea of losing their enforcer — especially one who’s always had Caitlin Clark’s back — didn’t go over well.
One fan begged, “No. Don’t take this job. Stay in WNBA. We missed you watching playing and protect CC lol.”
Another chimed in, “Please don’t waste your life as a news actor. Stick with balling and being hot!”
And someone else threw out a fun idea: “Waiting for your weekly national tv sports program, Sophie ‘Roasts The Refs!’ Sponsored by @Arbys, because Sophie ‘has the beef’ with all the bad referees.”
It’s all in good fun, but the chatter comes at a tricky time for the Indiana Fever. Cunningham’s currently an unrestricted free agent, so whether she’s staying in Indy or moving on is still up in the air.
“I Think We Should Get Married”: WNBA Fans React to Sophie’s Baseball Throwback
Off the court, Cunningham’s hometown loyalty popped up again — this time for her St. Louis Cardinals.
She reposted a video from the 2011 World Series, when David Freese blasted a walk-off homer that forced a Game 7 against Texas.

“Will always remember watching this live! Still gives me goosebumps. @Cardinals,” she wrote.

Fans loved it.
“Yeah same. I think we should get married,” one said.
Another added, “…..and you like baseball too???”
A third replied, “This is why you’re the Queen of Missouri because you definitely know ball.”
Her Missouri roots run deep — from her Mizzou Tigers days to her recent Mizzou Athletics Hall of Fame induction.
