The Las Vegas Aces punched their ticket to the WNBA Finals with a 107-98 win over the Indiana Fever, but A’ja Wilson’s postgame comments quickly set off a wave of criticism online from the WNBA fans.
“We worked so hard to get to this point. People counted all of us out, but we’re making it to the finals right now. So we’re not done, we’re not gonna be complacent, but damn, it feels good right now,” Wilson said after Tuesday’s win.

WNBA fans weren’t buying the idea that the Aces had been overlooked.
“What a joke. How many Olympians are on this team? And they got taken to a Game 5 OT, with players who were add ons! What a joke!”

“Girl you had 5 Olympians on your squad, a fully healthy roster, have won 2 championships with 3 of those Olympians, girl byeee.”
“This is why I can’t watch the finals. Aces perpetual victim mindset meeting up with the sleaziest team to ever play professional basketball. Insufferable.”
A’ja Wilson headlines an Aces roster stacked with talent. She, Chelsea Gray, and Jackie Young all helped Team USA bring home Olympic gold, while Megan Gustafson suited up for Spain and Tiffany Hayes represented Azerbaijan in 3×3.
The Aces also pieced together a 15-game winning streak during the season, solidifying themselves as favorites. Their path was eased further with the Fever missing key players, including Caitlin Clark, Sophie Cunningham, Sydney Colson, Aari McDonald, and Chloe Bibby.
WNBA Fans Accuse Refs of Carrying Aces Past Fever
Despite Las Vegas advancing, not everyone was convinced they earned it cleanly. Some fans suggested the Aces got more help than they should have — from the officials.
One viral post on X used a clip of Jack Harlow being carried by security at the 2022 Kentucky Derby with the caption,

“Refs carrying A’ja Wilson to the WNBA Finals.”

Responses piled in.
“Aja is so happy that she got her special whistle back in this game LMAO! Aja is a f*cking trash a** with her attitude. So unlikeable,” one fan wrote.
“League MVP barely got over a battered team 🙄.”

“The Fever had a heroic run. Almost beat the reffs with hardship players.”
The Aces now turn their focus to the Finals, where they’ll face the Phoenix Mercury led by former Fever standouts DeWanna Bonner and NaLyssa Smith. Game 1 tips off Friday.
