Sophie Cunningham was glued to her TV screens during the playoff game between the Chicago Bears and the LA Rams. While her passion for sports was one to admire, WNBA fans seem to be laughing at her reaction following the match.
Chicago was down seven late and flirting with elimination. Then chaos hit. Caleb Williams drifted nearly 20 yards backward before floating a desperation throw to Cole Kmet in the end zone. Cairo Santos nailed the conversion. Overtime.
That’s when Cunningham jumped online.
“Chicago, what did I just watch???? Holy smokes,” she posted on X.
It didn’t age well.
The Rams finished it in overtime, and once that happened, WNBA fans shifted their attention from the comeback to Cunningham herself.

@ElonsBunny tried to frame it in basketball terms: “It was like CC from the logo!”

Others weren’t even focused on football anymore.
“You’re staying with the fever aren’t you?” asked @jck3188.
The night officially ended when Harrison Mevis drilled a 42-yard field goal, pushing the Rams into the NFC Championship game against the Seattle Seahawks.
“Bonus points to her for owning it”: WNBA fans react to Sophie Cunningham’s revelation
Not long after, Cunningham was trending again — this time for something she said off the field.
On Show Me Something with co-host West Wilson, he noticed something on her lips. Cunningham didn’t try to brush it off.

“I have herpes,” she said.
The clip spread quickly and pulled in a second wave of reactions.
“It’s a herp, but the ‘cold sore’ variety. Bonus points to her for owning it,” said @Omnibot2001.
“I still love her. She’s a beast and is a normal person. Get over it people,” added @MichaelOrtman9.
@Ro91132455Rose kept it light: “You tore it up with those lips! Smile.”
Between a wild NFL finish and a blunt podcast moment, Cunningham once again found herself right in the middle of the conversation — whether she was trying to or not.
