WNBA legend Candace Parker took on an exciting new role as a lead commentator for the inaugural season of Unrivaled, a groundbreaking women’s basketball league. Her involvement alongside other prominent figures, such as Renee Montgomery, aimed to elevate the league’s profile and engage fans in a fresh and dynamic way.

As the inaugural season of the Unrivaled approaches, the league announced a star-studded commentary team set to elevate its coverage. Parker, along with former All-Star Renee Montgomery and host Lauren Jbara, were revealed as the primary studio voices for the league. Their extensive experience and deep knowledge of the game promised to bring a fresh perspective to fans tuning in for the league’s debut.

Joining them in the studio was Hall of Famer Lisa Leslie, who contributed her insights during select broadcasts. The league also appointed Brendan Glasheen as the play-by-play announcer, supported by Leslie and Sarah Kustok as analysts. The addition of sideline reporters like Taylor Rooks and Allie LaForce further enriched the coverage, ensuring that viewers would receive a comprehensive experience throughout the games.

Craig Barry, the executive vice president and chief content officer for TNT Sports, expressed enthusiasm about the talent assembled for Unrivaled. He highlighted how Parker, Montgomery, and Leslie’s presence would significantly enhance the league’s visibility and credibility. Their collective experience in women’s basketball was expected to resonate with fans and newcomers alike, making the coverage engaging and insightful.

After becoming one of the greatest women to play for the WNBA, Parker is now set to assume a new role for Unrivaled. This can be seen in an article written by Joseph Zucker for Bleacher Report.

Two-time WNBA MVP Candace Parker, 2011 All-Star Renee Montgomery and Lauren Jbara will form the studio team for Unrivaled’s inaugural season.

Hall of Famer Lisa Leslie will work select broadcasts in the studio as well.

Unrivaled also announced Brendan Glasheen as the league’s play-by-play announcers with Leslie and Sarah Kustok working in the analyst role. Taylor Rooks, Allie LaForce and Stephanie Ready, and Ros Gold-Onwude will report from the sidelines.

Unrivaled, which features a unique three-on-three format, is set to kick off on January 17 with two exciting matchups. The league aims to redefine women’s basketball by offering a fast-paced and dynamic style of play, distinct from traditional formats. This innovative approach is expected to attract a diverse audience and spark interest in the sport.
