The Minnesota Timberwolves came to the game against the Sacramento Kings short-handed but it’s not much of a problem as Julius Randle lead them to a victory over the struggling Sacramento Kings by affecting the game in both ends.

Randle finished with 24 points and 10 rebounds and to be the emergency big man after Rudy Gobert suddenly need to leave the game due to personal reasons. It should not be that hard of a task since the Kings did not have a 7-foot big man that was on the floor a lot but the challenge for him was to guard anybody that was assigned to him.

How did he do? His teammate Naz Reid thinks he did well. He believes Randle has become more committed to defense, something many critics think he is having a problem with.

“It’s huge, I mean being able to switch 1 through 5,” Reid said after the game as reported by Wolves reporter
    Andrew Dukowitz of Zone Coverage.

“You can’t post him up, he’s big and strong. Then you have on the perimeter where he’s able to switch and guard up and lock up some people. It helped tremendously and being able to switch as well.”

Julius Randle got plenty of support

Wolves missed Anthony Edwards‘ 28 points per game. This is the second time he missed the game.

Randle naturally becomes the focal point of the offense but the Sunday win was a total team effort.

Aside from Randle’s 24, four other guys scored in double digits. Jaden McDaniels was inserted into the starting line up and made a good account of himself by finishing with 21 points and having the highest plus/minus at 18 compared to everyone.

Donte Divincenzo was a menace all game long, recording 18 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 steals, and 1 block. Bones Hyland, who got the starting PG role, had 18 points while Reid put up 20 off the bench.
