Rajon Rondo is regarded as one of the smartest players ever in the NBA and the Milwaukee Bucks should feel lucky that they got him around since last season.

The four-time All-Star, who last played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, was invited as guest coach by Doc Rivers who was his coach with the Boston Celtics. Together, they won one title.
His role has been made official and he is now called a coaching associate.
“Last year, I was more in a consulting role. This year, the name has changed, I think it’s called a coaching associate,” Rondo said in a preview of the next episode of Thanalysis Show by Thanasis Antetokounmpo.
“I’m around more, and I’m able to be on the bench this year. I’m able to talk to the guys, and my biggest strength is to be able to help the guys (make) in-game adjustments on the fly.”
The Bucks gig should serve as a stepping stone for Rondo who expressed desire to become an NBA coach.
“I do want to particularly be a head coach in this league one day,” he said.
Rondo said the Bucks players he is working with have no ego.

Rajon Rondo already has a prodigy
Remember when Ryan Rollins had two straight great games for the Bucks last week? Rondo has his fingerprint all over it.
Bobby Portis previewed this mentorship and Rollins growth early in the season.

Giannis Antetokounmpo discussed in detail Rondo’s impact to his young guard a week ago.
“He’s learning from the best. . . Not a lot of people have the opportunity to be with Rondo every single day and pick his brain. So, take advantage. He’s taking advantage of that.”
