Philadelphia 76ers had a great start to the season by going 4-0 but then things are getting tougher for them as the season progresses. Joel Embiid returning might make things less complicated for them.

Question is: when he will he return? Nick Nurse’s latest statement suggests not anytime soon. The coach said they are being careful with Embiid’s recovery and he is advising him to listen closely to the medical team.
“I think we’re trying to take the best care we can of him and get him out there,” he said as quoted by Keith Pompey of Philly Inquirer.
“He wants to play. He’s being very diligent. … He’s doing a lot to try to get back on the floor. And I think it will be soon.”

“I know this has been a long [process]. I think it will be soon, but just keep doing the right things, keep listening to what the doctors tell us.”
Embiid has played six games so far this season. He last suited up on November 8 when he had his best scoring game with 29 points.
Life without Joel Embiid
The Sixers are 5-5 in their last 10 and incurred losses from the top teams in the East. They were beaten twice but current no. 1 Detroit Pistons and suffered one defeat each against the Chicago Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Toronto Raptors.
They remain afloat and are currently sixth in standings with a 9-6 record and largely to credit for this is the stellar play of Tyrese Maxey who is no. 8 in the latest NBA Kia MVP Ladder.

Maxey is averaging 33.4 points per game and has played all 15 games for the team. He is no. 2 in the scoring behind Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Doncic. He recently recorded his career high of 54 points in win over the Milwaukee Bucks.
Paul George has also returned and put up 21 points in his second game back. PG said Maxey is now the heart and soul of the team.
“He’s the heart and soul of this team. This is similar to what Allen Iverson once did for the city. He’s our battery, and we’re witnessing one of them ones,” he said in an interview with The Athletic.
