Angel Reese’s fiery remarks about the Chicago Sky roster continue to ripple through the sports world — and now a Super Bowl champion has weighed in.
On Saturday’s episode of the Speakeasy podcast, former NFL running back LeSean “Shady” McCoy backed Reese’s message while questioning her delivery.

“I love what Angel’s doing on the court. She’s balling right now,” McCoy said at the 55:55 mark. “Her running her mouth is matching her game.”
Still, McCoy made it clear he didn’t agree with how Reese aired her frustrations.
“My thing with her is, if you feel like that, let your agent tell the team that,” he explained. “Why are you putting it out in the press? So your teammates can read it?” [56:05]

He even wondered aloud how her blunt comments might play out during games.
“Now we’re on the court with the girl that you don’t think is that good. How are they gonna pass you the ball?” McCoy added [56:56].
Angel Reese recently told the Chicago Tribune that she doesn’t believe certain teammates — including Courtney Vandersloot, Hailey Van Lith, and Rachel Banham — should be part of the team’s long-term plans.
“I just don’t care”: Rachel Banham reacts to Angel Reese’s controversial comments
One of the players mentioned by name, Rachel Banham, doesn’t appear fazed.
“I think I just don’t really care. I’m so over all of this s***,” Banham told The Mirror US’s Joseph McBride in a piece published Saturday. “If I was younger, it would have affected me more. But I’m grown and I just don’t care.”
While Banham brushed off the controversy, the larger question remains: can the Sky navigate the fallout from Reese’s remarks and keep team chemistry intact down the stretch?
