Jaylen Brown tried his best to lead the Boston Celtics past the Orlando Magic in their second NBA Cup game yesterday. However, the team ultimately fell short in the 123-110 road loss.

After scoring 30 points in the first three periods, including 16 in the third, Brown was limited to just two points on 1-for-5 shooting in the final frame. When asked about whether the Orlando Magic’s defense caused him to struggle late, Brown insinuated that the officials may have impacted his production.
“In the fourth quarter, I think the officials made their point. So I get it. I’ll keep my mouth closed,” Brown stated via Zack Cox of the Boston Herald. “I get it. I’ll keep my mouth closed.”

Brown previously criticized the referees after the Boston Celtics’ 105-103 home defeat against the Utah Jazz on Monday, saying that Keyonte George should’ve been called for a foul when George slipped and tripped Brown during a pivotal sequence late in the contest.
Boston Celtics News: Payton Pritchard drops eye-opening message after loss vs. Orlando Magic
After going down by double digits in the first quarter, the Boston Celtics clawed their way back but ran out of gas in the end. Still, Payton Pritchard commended the team’s fighting spirit after the game.

“I’m proud of how we fought back, stayed in it,” Pritchard said via Sean T. McGuire of NBC Sports Boston. “Because usually this is a team that kind of punks us on the boards, is way more physical. I didn’t feel like we got out-physicaled. I felt like, they hit threes.”
“They weren’t a team that was supposed to be a high-shooting 3-point team. We kind of were living with that. Tip your cap, they made threes tonight,” he continued. “I feel like we did good. We came all the way back. And then when we came all the way back, they made another push.”
