Bucks Coach Doc Rivers Says He Called the NBA for Terrible Officiating of Giannis Antetokounmpo This 2025-26 Season and Fans Got Receipt

Giannis Antetokounmpo is currently at the top of the list for most free throw attempts this season with at least 10. However, Doc Rivers thinks it could have been more if only the officials are calling the Milwaukee Bucks star’s plays the right way.

Giannis 11% FT rate in iso possesions. The worst on this list btw

    The league is FIXED!!!! https://t.co/hcYklyVZyn

Rivers revealed on Monday that he put the league on notice for the terrible calls the Greek Freak is not getting despite him almost getting assaulted almost every night.

“We send it to the league. It’s all you can do. And they’re either going to call it or not and we just gotta keep playing. We can’t worry about it. Giannis is not going to worry about it, so not a lot I can do,” he said according to Eric Nehm of The Athletic.

Last Friday, Doc Rivers said the Bucks have sent calls to the NBA.

“We send it to the league. It’s all you can do. And they’re either going to call it or not and we just gotta keep playing. We can’t worry about it. Giannis is not going to worry about it, so not a lot I can do.” https://t.co/2TK9N16gQK

Antetokounmpo expressed discontent with the officiating early this season but he did it subtly as he said he did not want to get fined.

Rivers was once told by a referee that they are letting Giannis play through the physicality because he can take it.

“One of the refs even said, ‘Well, yeah they’re hitting his arms, but he’s playing through it.’ I said, Okay, it’s still a foul.’ … I just think the way [Giannis] gets officiated is not right,” said Rivers at a recent press conference,” Rivers shared last week.

Doc Rivers backed by fans, videos

Rivers is not alone in this and the videos collated by fans will prove this. There’s enough receipt from the Mavs win alone.

Some even think that there is an agenda against the Giannis who would not leave Milwaukee.

The nba is legit not giving him calls because he didnt force his way to the knicks btw https://t.co/eDeHr1s5ea

essentially a hip drop tackle + a horse-collar tackle at the same time but it’s a common foul in this league when done on giannis https://t.co/e1uknsiOml

The ref grabs his elbow as if to explain to Doc why this would only be a common foul…

When clearly, Gafford grabbed Giannis between his shoulder/neck area. Why are they continually officiating Giannis completely different from everyone else? https://t.co/MSGovaG3Zp pic.twitter.com/1QoJlmoQ9P

League-wide memo has gone out that you can hack Giannis and receive barely any punishment for it. And the refs will change only if something disastrous (hope not) happens to him https://t.co/QVUNJspoQn

Giannis continues to get a bad whistle and he is PISSED with the refs. 🗣️ pic.twitter.com/Z99D5KQibK
