With a lot of people still doubting the powers of Caitlin Clark’s popularity, NBA commissioner Adam Silver dropped a truth bomb about the Indiana Fever that would change their minds.
Speaking on FanDuel Sports Network – Indiana, Silver discussed the popularity of Clark and her impact on women’s basketball. The commissioner was in awe of the growth of the sport, thanks to the reach of the former Iowa Hawkeye legend.
“To see the popularity of Caitlin (Clark), to see the Fever exploding in popularity — not just here in Indianapolis, Indiana, but globally — it’s remarkable,” Silver said, according to Scott Agness of Fieldhouse Files.

Since coming into the WNBA in 2024, Clark instantly became the face of the league, turning games that were once a snooze-fest into a must-watch showdown.
Some of the Indiana Fever fans also believe that the league hasn’t done a good job at promoting Clark and marketing the league in general. Even other sports were showing how to use her image correctly, as the Golf Channel chose to show her recent appearance at THE ANNIKA pro-am golf tournament to expand their reach.
For her part, Clark also needs to remain healthy in order to further her brand. 2025 wasn’t that nice to Clark as she suffered an injury-plagued season, only allowing her to feature in 13 games and missing out on the postseason.
Caitlin Clark’s pay grade on the rise
Sportico’s newest report of its annual highest-paid female athletes list saw Caitlin Clark moving up to No. 6, four spots from where she was last year. Despite not seeing much of the action in the 2025 season, Clark still managed to rise up the ranks thanks to her growing star power.
CC reportedly earned around $16 million, mainly from her sponsorship deals with many major brands.

Clark’s WNBA salary and bonus, on the other hand, only contributed $119,000, which shows that the WNBA is still miles away from being a real money maker for Clark and the others. Clark is also the only athlete on the list who plays on a team, since tennis players dominate.
There were 10 tennis players in the list, led by Coco Gauff, who also topped the list at $23 million.
Other athletes include golfers Nelly Korda and Jeeno Thitikul, gymnast Simone Biles, and freestyle skier Eileen Gu.
