Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark may not have played most of the regular season games for 2025, but her absence on the court was complemented by her off-court contributions, as attested to by one NCAA Champion.
In an exchange on X, two-time NCAA Champion Val Whiting had an exchange with one fan about how veteran DeWanna Bonner may have pulled the Phoenix Mercury down with her negative plus-minus stat.

“Her plus/minus was negative for the entirety of the time she was with the Mercury. What are [you] basing your statement on?” the fan said.

Whiting replied, and highlighted how the stat was also true for Caitlin Clark at one point, but still made her team better.
“Caitlin Clark had a negative plus minus last season and she made her team better,” she said.

As she enters the 2025 offseason, Clark said she plans to spend the WNBA offseason playing golf and jokingly suggested she might try her hand at becoming a professional golfer, noting she’s already been on courses frequently and even played in an LPGA Pro-Am event last winter.

She also revealed she often handles music for the team and quipped that DJing could be another offseason pursuit, saying she’s “legit on the AUX” during team gatherings and warmups.
“Maybe that’s what I’ll do in the offseason, I’ll become a DJ,” she added.
In an earlier interview, she already hinted at her interest in once again dipping her toes on golf, something she already did during her rookie offseason.
“I don’t know what I’m going to do tomorrow, I don’t know what I’m going to do the next day. Maybe play some golf. That’s what I’m gonna do until it becomes too cold in Indiana. So I got that. I’ll become a professional golfer,” Clark said when asked what her plans for the offseason were.”
Caitlin Clark, Taylor Swift Share Suite to Watch Chiefs Game
Caitlin Clark was present for the Kansas City Chiefs’ matchup with the Detroit Lions in a suite at Arrowhead Stadium with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s family, giving even more publicity to the second-year WNBA player.

The West Des Moines, Iowa, native and Chiefs fan had been seen earlier this year with Swift and others at a Kansas City game. This chance for attention directed towards Clark came just before the end of her second professional season.
Caitlin Clark’s season was curtailed due to a groin injury, limiting her to 13 games. During these games, she averaged 16.5 points, 8.8 assists, and five rebounds—statistics that underscored the importance of health and ongoing development as she recuperates during the offseason.
