Caitlin Clark and the Indiana fever will travel to Iowa City for a preseason game, and one of Clark’s teammates from her college days at Iowa could not help but express her excitement for an old friend and superstar coming home to play on her home soil.
The Indiana Fever Instagram page posted a teaser showing Caitlin Clark, announcing the upcoming preseason game they’ll have at the Carver-Hawkeye Arena. More than a preseason game, this would also serve as a homecoming game for Clark, who played in and left a legacy there.
As she shared the post with Clark’s photo, former teammate Gabbie Marshall had one word to express her excitement over the news.
“OMG,” she wrote as a caption.
While Caitlin Clark went on to pursue professional basketball under the WNBA, Gabbie Marshall chose to pivot away from being an athlete to focus on her academics. She moved to North Carolina to pursue a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy after graduating with a degree in Health and Human Physiology. Additionally, she has become a brand ambassador for The Joint Chiropractic in Coralville.

The Indiana Fever is set to play a preseason game against the Brazilian National Team on May 4, 2025, at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City. The Fever’s Damiris Dantas, who has previously played for the Brazilian National Team in the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics, will also be part of the preseason game.
The game is part of the Fever’s three-game preseason slate, which also includes games against the Washington Mystics on May 3 and the Atlanta Dream on May 10.
Caitlin Clark’s Coach: “Destroy Everything”
Indiana Fever’s new player development coach Keith Porter has one plan for Caitlin Clark: have her destroy everything. In an interview, the new development coach for the Fever shared his excitement over working with Clark.

“My goals for Caitlin, I just want her to just destroy everything, right,” Porter said. “I want to give her the extra tools. Now the way the teams used to play, you can’t do that anymore, you can’t force her to take these shots. So now you just got these points and just get on the other end, right.”
“That’s my goal,” he added. “I just want her to just feel super comfortable in every scenario [and] every coverage, whatever it is, and just destroy teams. The goal is ultimately a championship.”

Caitlin Clark continued to prepare for the 2025 season of the WNBA. She was, at one point, expected to play for Unrivaled, but ultimately declined to join.
