Cameron Brink‘s return has lit up the Sparks’ locker room—and social media. Last week, as part of her comeback celebration, the 6-4 Stanford alum posted a carousel of moments captioned “Let July be July Let August be August.” That powerful vibe caught the eye of veteran Dearica Hamby, who replied with a warm, “Ma loves you cammmy.”

Coming off a torn ACL that sidelined her for 13 months, Cameron Brink is back on the court. Two weeks ago, she was cleared to practice and even suited up for a limited preseason run. “I feel great. I’m super thankful that the Sparks have let me take my time and really feel great coming back,” she told reporters at her first shootaround.
Numbers are already backing up her impact. In a recent 94-91 win over Seattle, Brink came off the bench to score 14 points in 11 minutes—her season high—while swatting shots and grabbing rebounds. Her spark helped swing the game in LA’s favor.
The support extends beyond teammates. NBA legend Magic Johnson and Sparks brass have both celebrated Brink’s return. Johnson took to social media, calling her comeback “a huge lift” for the team, and praised how young players are rallying around her.

That kind of attention makes sense. Cameron Brink is playing in front of home crowds again, in a Sparks squad just half a game from the playoff bubble. With coach Lynne Roberts carefully managing her minutes, Brink is a perfect blend of promise, patience, and performance—just what a team fighting for postseason relevance needs right now.
Two-Week Return: Cameron Brink Makes Sparks History While Staying Humble
Cameron Brink has wasted no time making history in her comeback. Just 12 days after returning, she erupted for 14 points, five rebounds, two steals, and a block in a close 94-91 win over Seattle—the quickest a Spark has hit that line since Candace Parker or Lisa Leslie achieved it.
Cameron Brink is just putting herself in another class above. An elite club of high-point earners, quantity rebounders, and clutch performers beyond normal levels. Alongside names like Parker, Leslie, and Nneka Ogwumike.

Despite the fireworks, Brink’s focus remains steady. Her comeback motto—“Let July be July, Let August be August”—is resonating, and Dearica Hamby appreciates that she publicly shows how she’s earning praise within the team. Cameron Brink is rebuilding her game, her health, and her bond with Sparks fans—one game at a time.
