The Cleveland Cavaliers made the bold offseason move of trading for Lonzo Ball, and the former second overall pick has been as good as advertised so far this season.

In his first six games in a Cleveland Cavaliers uniform, Ball is averaging 5.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 5.3 assists on 31.6 percent shooting from the field. But, despite the modest numbers, he is already winning over his new teammates like Donovan Mitchell.
“I’ve been blessed to play with Ricky Rubio twice, and he’s right there with Ricky as far as passes and an IQ level,” Mitchell said of Ball via Spencer Davies of ClutchPoints. “Obviously, Mike (Conley), I wouldn’t call him a passing point guard, but he definitely makes plays for everybody. And when I say passing, I mean he makes the right play. But Zo’s passing, the stuff he does, he’s playing like he’s back at Chino Hills.”

“When you have a guy like that who just sees the game… Even if they don’t lead to points, right? Like, it’s just getting the ball down the floor. The stuff he does in practice is crazier than what I’ve seen in the game. But, it’s something that is great for me to see because I’m like, ‘Hey, this is how I can improve my own self.’ And then, the fact that he makes the game a hell of a lot easier for everybody,” he added.
Cleveland Cavaliers News: Kenny Atkinson shares the latest on Darius Garland
Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Kenny Atkinson recently told the media that Darius Garland’s season debut is just around the corner. Garland (toe) is upgraded to questionable ahead of their next home game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

“Just kind of see how he responds,” Atkinson said of Garland via Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com. “Just kind of repeat what I’ve said before, he is really close. Let’s see what tomorrow morning looks like.”
“Darius is really close, but I don’t want to get ahead of myself, so I’d just keep it as very close,” he added.
