The NBA world was buzzing after Cooper Flagg threw down a thunderous poster dunk against the Toronto Raptors — and nobody beamed prouder than his mom, Kelly Flagg.

After the highlight went viral across social media, Kelly responded on X (formerly Twitter) with a simple but powerful post:

    “Yes ma’am!”

    Yes ma’am! https://t.co/QC8to3FXKH

    — Kelly Flagg (@kflagg11) October 27, 2025

Commentators praised the confidence and maturity Flagg continues to show at such a young age. Even rival fans admitted that the moment was something special, calling it a “statement dunk” that announced his arrival.

Call it what you will, but just as the saying goes, it’s all about the journey. The hours of practices, the sacrifices that the family had to endure, and now playing at the highest stage for basketball, the NBA. To see it all come to fruition becomes a moment of culmination for them.

Cooper Flagg is quickly becoming more than just a rookie sensation; he’s a symbol of how preparation and passion can meet the moment perfectly. And if his mom’s reaction is any sign, the world might need to get used to hearing a lot more from the Flaggs this season.

D’Angelo Russell Praises Cooper Flagg’s Energy After Viral Dunk

Following Cooper Flagg’s explosive dunk against the Toronto Raptors, even veterans couldn’t help but be impressed. D’Angelo Russell was among the first to speak up, giving high praise to the 19-year-old rookie who stole the spotlight.

“He’s unbelievable,” Russell said of Flagg’s dunk. “He does a little bit of everything, so when he’s getting the crowd going like that, our team feeds off of it. Everybody wants to see him do great, so when he’s performing like that it’s contagious.”

The rookie has been showing a mix of discipline and flair that has made even established stars take notice. Coaches have pointed out how he blends smart movement with bold execution — a balance rare for someone in his first year.

Just another day at the office for Cooper Flagg. A sign that his hard work is bringing the maximum effect. Receiving this feedback comes as a message that he’s on the right trajectory. And that his potential is yet to come on full display, but he’s already getting props for his level of play.

Moments like this are why fans believe the hype around Cooper Flagg is real. He’s already changing the pace, changing the crowd, and changing expectations. If this is just the beginning, the league might be watching the birth of its next superstar.
