Tobias Harris spearheaded the Detroit Pistons’ offense in their 104-103 home win against the Boston Celtics on Monday, as the 33-year-old produced 25 points (team-high) and three rebounds on 11-for-20 shooting from the field in 35 minutes.
Besides making timely shots for the Detroit Pistons, Harris also made his presence felt on the defensive end by forcing a tough pull-up jumper from Jaylen Brown in the final seconds that went long. After the game, he received his well-deserved flowers.
“He was huge, and that’s consistent,” head coach JB Bickerstaff said of Harris via Coty M. Davis of the Detroit Free Press. “When we need him most, we know we can count on him – settling us down, finding a bucket, communicating, and getting guys together. That’s why he’s so valuable to us.”
“He’s been great, man. For one, he’s just a class act more than anything,” Cade Cunningham added. “The way he carries himself, his professionalism, how he takes care of his body and goes about his work is an inspiration to all the young guys. We all see that… And we’re thankful for it.”

Detroit Pistons News: Tobias Harris bares secret to his consistent production
Tobias Harris’ 25-point outing against the Boston Celtics was one point shy of his season high, and his scoring was a welcome boost for the Detroit Pistons, especially with Cade Cunningham struggling from the field on Monday.
“Really, it’s just taking care of my health. Just keeping myself mentally and physically in the best condition,” Harris explained. “And at the same time, just staying young with it – that’s the real thing. These guys, they call me Unc and stuff, but I’m (also) into the same stuff they’re into. Just having fun with it, and that’s the biggest thing.”
The Detroit Pistons have wrapped up their season series against the Boston Celtics at 3-1. With yesterday’s home victory, they improved to 31-10 – good for the Eastern Conference’s top seed.
