Victor Wembanyama is an All-Star for the second time in his career. He gets the starting nod this year after ending up with fifth best weighted score in the All-Star voting. He has the chops to be an All-Star but not everyone is convinced that he should get one of the First Five role.

One of them is Golden State Warriors forward and podcaster Draymond Green. He has another name in mind for that slot.
“For me, Wemby would not have been a starter if it were just straight up East versus West. And the reason Wemby wouldn’t have been a starter is that Ant-Man, for me, would have started over Wemby because Wemby just hadn’t play hasn’t played enough,” Green said in his show.
“He’s been coming off the bench the last seven games or so. He missed a bunch of time, you know. So, I just don’t know that I could have made him a starter.”

Wemby and Edwards has the same weighted score although Wembanyama has more fan votes. The Minnesota Timberwolves star is more popular in player votes, getting 110 against Wemby’s 85.
Victor Wembanyama’s slot can go to Blazers forward
Deni Avdija surprisingly has more fan votes than Wembanyama. The Portland Trailblazers forward also has more media vote than the Spurs’ Alien.
Green thinks the Israeli player is also deserving of the starting 5 slot.
“Needless to say, it is World vs. USA,” Green shared on his podcast. “And if you don’t want to go with Wemby, I think you could very easily go with Deni Avdija. Deni’s played incredibly. The Trailblazers look like a completely different team when he’s not on the floor.”

The Starting 5 members, of course, won’t change anymore and everything is just Green’s musing, a starter of conversation.
Wemby is part of Team World and he will play alongside Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic, and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
They are going to battle with Team USA headlined by Stephen Curry, Jalen Brunson, Tyrese Maxey, Cade Cunningham, and Jaylen Brown.
