On Tuesday, Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade appeared on “The OG’s Show,” which was hosted by Mike Miller and Udonis Haslem, two of his former colleagues. Wade discussed the method by which LeBron James and Chris Bosh formed the notorious Big 3 in Miami.
The trio of Wade, James and Bosh was one of the most entertaining and successful team-ups in the NBA. Together, they played four seasons and made the NBA Finals every year. The Big 3 won two titles during their run and was the most dominant team in the Eastern Conference.

However, there was a process that involved a secret meeting prior to their cooperation. Wade described his chat with James during their 2010 conjecture about collaborating.
“Two players go to our team,” Wade said. “When they hit us with that, I was like–so you get that quietness on the phone with Bron. I’m like, ‘Okay. So, what do you want to do?'”
“We went from there to like, ‘Let’s get in person. Let’s have a conversation.’ We had already knew the other player, if it was three, who we would like to play with. His name was Christopher Bosh. Chris was represented by the same agent, Henry Thomas, at the time. “We just kinda let Chris know, ‘We having this meeting, talk about some stuff. Let’s talk about it.’ So, we had a secret meeting.”

The meeting was fruitful as the Heat made room to sign all three players. Wade re-signed with Miami under a new six-year, $107.2 million contract. James and Bosh, on the other hand, were each given a six-year, $110.1 million contract.

Dwyane Wade did the unthinkable when he left Miami to join the Chicago Bulls in 2016. Wade signed a two-year, $47 contract to join his hometown team. During his contract negotiations with the Heat, the former shooting guard was offered a two-year, $20 million deal. Wade chose to join Chicago even though the organization reportedly raised the offer to a two-year, $40 million contract.
His time with the Bulls wasn’t his best as his age started to show in his production. This led him to be traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2017-18 season. However, Wade revealed that he could’ve returned to Miami after one year in Chicago but opted not to.
“I ain’t gonna lie to y’all, I could’ve came back to Miami after Chicago,” Wade said. “But I was like, ‘Nah, I ain’t there yet.’ I was hurt.”
“I was heartbroken… I try to be as graceful, empathetic as all the things I can be for my family, my friends, the organization, I try to. I thought I did everything. I thought I was a pillar, and I thought that at that time, I should’ve got rewarded for that… At that time, why I ended up leaving was I was hurt. I was hurt how they was handled me, how they treated me.”
