NBA media left Milwaukee Bucks fans anxious and other teams excited when they reported that Giannis Antetokounmpo asked for a trade before the start of the season. Among those who punched the report are Brian Windhorst and Shams Charania.
The report has leg and so, many Bucks fans were led to believe it. There’s Milwaukee’s struggle this season and the uncertainty of a playoff spot. Things are not looking good in the past week although they did have an inspiring win over the Detroit Pistons.

Antetokounmpo’s cryptic social media activities also leave fans in a guessing game about his state of mind.
Windhorst said it directly that Giannis wanted out and that his preferred destination is the New York Knicks.
“This already happened. Shams reported this a couple of months ago,” he said in an ESPN show.
“You can put whatever verbiage you want around it, whether he requested it or asked or hinted at it, but he basically said: I wanna be a Knick, can you make me a Knick? And they had discussions for some period of days, but those talks didn’t progress, so they dropped it before camp.”

Windhorst is not a close source of Giannis Antetokounmpo
Windhorst appeared on TV again and the inconsistency of his report surfaced. He talked to Rich Eisen about the Giannis situation and he said:

Giannis has not gone up and said ‘I want to be traded’. Giannis just expressed his frustration and his agent had to be sort of the guy behind the scenes that has talked about stuff.
The reporter ended his explanation by saying “I don’t know the answer.”
The report of the Greek Freak being frustrated is not new. It has been there since 2020 and even in 2023 when they made the first of the three straight seasons when they exited the first round. Bucks fans caught on this inconsistency and wants an explanation.
.@WindhorstESPN would sure love an explanation for this! https://t.co/zGFm6clAui

Today: “Giannis hasn’t gone up and said I want to be traded”
Yesterday: “He already asked to be traded”
Sure maybe there is validity to him being moved with the Bucks struggling, but this nonsense has been pushed by Windy for literal years 🤡 https://t.co/9mSBKYCCcc

Bucks fans are growing tired of national media when it comes to Giannis with some dismissing the reports as unsubstantial and these reporters spewing basic information.
Took 24 hours for Windy to backtrack his own reporting. He’s now saying that Giannis did not request a trade.
Which is what Doc came to the podium and said prior to the game. https://t.co/4HSyeFLVmc

I hate to give this kind of stuff any attention but to sit here and say “I don’t know the answer” after spending the last 24 hours speaking as if you DID know the answer is insane behavior. https://t.co/CDbiVZeHYu
