Draymond Green doubled down on Steve Kerr’s take that the Golden State Warriors are a fading dynasty during a recent episode of his podcast, The Draymond Green Show. Despite conceding this fact, Green made it clear that their desire to compete hasn’t changed.
“It’s true, dynasties don’t last forever. What you do is you try to prolong them as long as you can, you try to build on them as much as you can. He didn’t say ‘we’re a dynasty that faded,’ he said we are a fading dynasty. Guess what, Steph is in year 17. I’m in year 14. Klay Thompson, who’s gone, would be in year 15. Steve Kerr is in his 12th year of coaching, and he didn’t start with us from the beginning,” Green explained.
“We’ve been at it for a while. He’s not throwing salt. It’s true, but it’s our jobs as the ones inside the dynasty to prolong it as long as we’re given the opportunity. How much more can we do? That’s the goal. That’s our mission,” he added.
Since winning their fourth NBA championship in 2022, the Golden State Warriors have dealt with numerous injuries and roster turnover, while their rivals have grown in stature. Right now, they’re the eighth seed in the Western Conference with a 17-16 record.

Golden State Warriors News: Steve Kerr praises the second unit during win vs. Brooklyn Nets
The Golden State Warriors have won four of their last five, following their 120-107 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Monday night. During the postgame presser, head coach Steve Kerr heaped praise on the bench for providing a timely boost.
“One of the strengths of our roster is the depth,” Kerr told Monte Poole of NBC Sports Bay Area. “I feel comfortable putting anybody out there, and we showed that tonight. We got a lot of really good contributions.”
“I thought Will Richard was fantastic. He and Melt helped close the game with some great defensive plays. Gui always brings great energy. You see the plus minuses from the bench, they’re all sky high. Great work from the bench tonight,” he added.
