At 35 years of age, Draymond Green is well aware that he is closer to the end of his NBA career. During a recent press conference, the Golden State Warriors forward shared that a career in coaching is something he is considering when he eventually retires.
“As I get closer to the end, I think a little bit more about it. I’m definitely closer than I was a couple of years ago. If you would’ve asked me two years ago, I would’ve told you hell no… It’s not an absolute no anymore for me,” Green explained via 95.7 The Game.
Green is considered one of the best defenders of his generation, and he is a proven winner. However, Golden State Warriors fans may be skeptical about whether he’ll make a great coach given his numerous run-ins with the referees.
A few weeks ago, Green considered a return to East Lansing, as the Golden State Warriors star was linked to the Michigan State Spartans coaching job. However, Tom Izzo is still at the helm, and the 70-year-old said he doesn’t plan to retire anytime soon.

Golden State Warriors News: Draymond Green details battling through the “dog days” of the season
January is typically considered the “dog days” of an NBA season, and Draymond Green, who has been in the league for 14 years with the Golden State Warriors, opened up about it during a recent press conference.
“Early in my career, a friend of mine came to my room, we were in LA… I was just sitting there staring at a wall. He’s like ‘What’s wrong with you?’ I’m like, I don’t know. I’m exhausted. You wanna go to the gym a little bit less… the walls start to close in on you a little bit more,” Green explained.
“You feel it… What it is for those that don’t know, it’s like you can’t quite see the beginning of the season, it was too long ago. Can’t quite see the end, it’s too far away. And the All-Star break is also just a little too far. We’re in them. Gotta find a way to get wins in them though,” he added.
