“That’s Wild” – Golden State Warriors Forward Slams Heat’s Recent Trade on Social Media

Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green couldn’t help but reveal his thoughts on the recent Miami Heat trade. The Heat traded Haywood Highsmith on Friday to the Brooklyn Nets for a protected 2026 second-round pick. Last season, Highsmith was considered a starter over All-Star forward Jimmy Butler by the franchise.

This led the Heat to trade away Butler to the Warriors on a five-team deal. Miami, on the other hand, has only started two games since the six-time All-Star was traded. The squad also had trouble in the latter part of the season after trading the forward. Late in the season, the South Beach club had to contend with a 10-game losing skid, which forced them into the Play-In round.

In the postseason, the Heat was dominated by the top-seeded Eastern Conference team, the Cleveland Cavaliers. Miami was swept by the franchise in four games, including a 138-83 defeat in Game 4 to end their season.

After trading away Highsmith, Green couldn’t help but react on social media. The four-time champion took to Threads to reveal his thoughts on the Heat’s move.

“Y’all (internet experts) wanted Jimmy to come off the bench behind dude, and 5 months later The Heat traded him for a bag of chips. That’s wild,” the Golden State Warriors star posted on social media.

Highsmith was never the starting forward for the Heat due to Andrew Wiggins being part of the return package. This is why he played the rest of the season coming off the bench. But trading him for a future second-round pick didn’t look good, especially in Green’s eyes.

Fans reacted to the Golden State Warriors’ star’s comments on the Heat’s recent trade

The Golden State Warriors star isn’t shy in revealing his thoughts on the Heat’s roster changes. Following his post on Threads, fans on X reacted to his comments. Here are some of what the fans said.

“Nobody wanted jimmy to come off the bench for highsmith, shut up donkey,” a fan said.

“There is not a single person who honestly suggested Jimmy Butler should be benched for Haywood Highsmith,” another fan commented.

“As active as i was on this app during the jimmy fallout. There might not have been a single soul who said that,” one fan said.

Others clapped back at the four-time champion.

“And y’all paying 40 year old Butler $60M to put up role player stats 🤣🤣”

“Draymond’s out here acting like a clown king—trading a player and flexing on the Heat like he just solved world hunger. “
