Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr urged his players to find a way to win without their star point guard, Stephen Curry, who is not expected to play in their NBA Cup opener against the Denver Nuggets tomorrow due to illness.

Curry last played in the Golden State Warriors’ 118-107 home win against the Phoenix Suns last Tuesday despite feeling under the weather. He sat out during Wednesday’s 121-116 loss against the Sacramento Kings, and Curry won’t be with the team when they travel to Denver.
“He’s unlikely to play tomorrow in Denver,” Kerr said of Curry via 95.7 The Game. “He’s still pretty sick. But these things happen during the season, whether it’s an injury or an illness… You have to rely on your fundamentals and your decision-making.”

“Last year, if I’m not mistaken, we were like 7-5 without Steph. You got to do that. You have to be able to find ways to win without your best players,” he continued. “Last night was a great lesson for our young guys. They gave themselves every chance to win because they played hard, they shared the ball, they competed. But we got to be more solid.”
Golden State Warriors get mixed news about Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green
The Golden State Warriors also missed the services of Jimmy Butler (back) and Draymond Green (rib) against the Sacramento Kings, and there’s a chance they will play against the Denver Nuggets tomorrow.

“Steph Curry will not play tomorrow against the Nuggets in Denver. Remains out with an illness. Symptoms worsened yesterday. Jimmy Butler is questionable to return. Draymond Green is probable,” The Athletic’s Anthony Slater posted on X (formerly known as Twitter).
During their recent defeat against Sacramento, Will Richard, Moses Moody, and Jonathan Kuminga had big performances, and the Golden State Warriors will need something similar, even if Butler and Green return tomorrow.
