The line between fan banter and crossing boundaries got annihilated at Little Caesars Arena two years ago. Jamal Murray got into rage after Detroit Pistons fans launched sexually explicit rants about his girlfriend during the Denver Nuggets’ 119-100 victory.

The incident has been surfacing recently and has already collected over 5K links and 500K views. Multiple users flagged it as recycled ragebait from 2023. But the confrontation remains one of the ugliest player-fan moments of that season.
Jamal Murray Nearly Jumps Into Stands After Pistons Fans’ Sick Girlfriend Taunt
The courtside heckling started during gameplay; they are likely not fans of the Nuggets and Murray. Following that, multiple courtside fans targeted Murray with personal attacks. They had actually been referencing a 2020 leaked video of Murray and his girlfriend, Harper Hempel.
“I saw your girl sucking d—,” a fan shouted at the Nuggets guard. “You ain’t gon’ do s— boy!” another nasty heckler yelled.

Murray immediately walked toward the stands with a red face. In the clip, the 6-foot-4 guard coils be seen ready to confront the fans face-to-face.
Then Nikola Jokic and a referee intervened to calm things down and asked the heckler to keep his mouth shut. They held Murray back from going toward the courtside seats. Detroit Police immediately removed the fan for violating the NBA Fan Code of Conduct.
Murray channeled his anger into his performance, dropping 19 points with 10 assists and six rebounds in 39 minutes.
Jamal Murray’s Comments on Nikola Jokic’s Injury
The Nuggets lost to the Heat 147–123, but the result quickly took a back seat after their star center Nikola Jokic left with an injury. The team later confirmed he will undergo an MRI to determine how serious it is. No timeline has been announced yet, and the uncertainty around his status has raised concern across the league — especially inside Denver’s locker room.
“I mean, I just wish for the best. The first thing that went through my mind was, I hope it’s not what I had,” Murray explained when discussing teammate injuries via AltitudeTV. “So as long as that’s not the equation, then obviously it’s part of the game. But we never want to see it happen. I’ll talk to him soon.”
Jamal Murray on tonight’s game: ‘Nikola isn’t just a big part of what we do—he’s almost everything we do.’

Murray understands the injury struggles his teammates face. He missed the entire 2021-22 season with a torn ACL. He knows the dark days that come with rehab. Michael Porter Jr. battled back surgeries during that same stretch.
