The Memphis Grizzlies are not in a good spot right now. With their star Ja Morant and even with their fanbase. Their current status would have been easier to accept if only they trigged major moves over the summer as per an NBA insider.

Marc Spears in his podcast revealed that the Grizzlies, who were swept as an eighth seed last April, had every man on the roster available, including their star Morant who was recently suspended one game for comments detrimental to the team.
However, there were hesitation about taking Ja among general managers he talked to.

HoopsWire quoted:
Marc Spears added that multiple GMs told him they had little interest, even last summer when Memphis quietly made everyone available. One current coach told Spears, “I’m not sure I’d want to coach him.
Is Ja Morant being traded?
Seven games into the season and with Memphis currently 3-6 and on a four-game skid, Morant’s status with the team is being monitored. Those who don’t want him to go can have a sigh of relief for now as per Jake Fischer.
For all the sources we’ve heard from who believe Ja Morant has indeed shifted into that mode, there has yet to be a credible murmur from the Memphis Grizzlies’ side to suggest that they would even entertain the idea of trying to trade their most popular player.

Morant’s biggest issue right now is his commitment to Tuomas Iisalo’s system who he pointed to when asked about what went wrong for them in loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. He was specifically questioning his coach’s rotation decision.
He was suspended for that and poured in 18 and 10 in his return versus the Raptors although they still lost two more.
