The New York Knicks failed to beat the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday. Given that the Knicks have a better record of 34-20, many expected them to cruise against the 14-40 Pacers. Unfortunately, Josh Hart and the rest of the team suffered a challenging 137-134 overtime loss.

The Pacers spoiled Jalen Brunson’s 40-point outing, which was the fourth game of the 2025-26 season that the Knicks star finished with at least 40 points. Hart helped the team with a triple-double of 15 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists. However, that wasn’t enough, as Indiana showed more effort and determination down the stretch.

It also didn’t help that OG Anunoby and Mitchell Robinson were out due to injuries.

Following the loss, Josh Hart had a blunt assessment of what went wrong for the Knicks.

“I thought we started off the first couple of minutes, we thought we were playing well, but we let them get a little comfortable,” Hart said. “Down the stretch, lack of execution. We gotta make sure, at the end of the game, fourth quarter, overtime, it’s a little different.

“We can’t just run fast, we gotta be able to slow it down and execute, and call plays and (put) guys in good situations, in areas to be successful. I feel like that’s where we’re kinda lacking.”

The Knicks have a chance to finish the week strong on Wednesday against the Philadelphia 76ers, before the All-Star Weekend.

Josh Hart has a career milestone on Tuesday

Despite the loss, Josh Hart still had a memorable game as a member of the Knicks. Against the Pacers, Hart recorded his 17th triple-double. He climbed up the franchise’s all-time triple-double list to No. 3. The only players in front of him are Walt Frazier (23) and Michael Ray Richardson (18).

Hart has been a fan-favorite since he was traded to the Knicks in 2023. Fans admire his hard work on the floor and for being mostly available.
