One of the biggest question marks for the Los Angeles Clippers heading into the 2025-26 NBA season is Chris Paul’s relationship with James Harden, with whom he played two seasons in Houston.
Towards the end of their partnership at the Houston Rockets, Paul and Harden went viral when they were seen going back and forth during a timeout, and the latter slapped the former’s hand at the end of the heated argument. Paul addressed the incident during his introductory press conference with the Los Angeles Clippers last Monday.
“We talked about just the history of obviously being there in Houston. And it’s funny man, for that clip that goes around, there was a lot of stuff, funnier stuff than that. That was just sort of our relationship,” Paul explained via ClutchPoints’ Tomer Azarly.
“But I think that’s what made that team so good. We got on each other in different situations, but that team, I can honestly say it was one of the most fun teams I’ve ever been on in my career…We definitely have unfinished business, so we get a chance to see what’s going on here,” he concluded.

Chris Paul never imagined he’d be back with the Los Angeles Clippers after he left the team in 2017. More than being in Los Angeles to be close to his family, the 40-year-old guard is appreciative of the new opportunity to contend for an NBA championship before he calls it quits.
“I’m just so excited about the moves that the team has made this offseason. And Bradley Beal coming to the team, Brook Lopez, all the young guys. I talked to James (Harden), I talked to Kawhi (Leonard), and I’m even more excited about what I think we have a chance to do,” Paul said.
