The Miami Heat dropped their fifth consecutive preseason game, losing 119-118 to the Atlanta Hawks last night. And to make matters worse, one of their most important players left the game due to a leg injury.

Bam Adebayo was seen hobbling in the third quarter after banging knees, sparking concern among Miami Heat supporters. However, Tim Reynolds of The Associated Press revealed that his injury is not that serious.
“Erik Spoelstra said postgame tonight in Atlanta that Bam Adebayo (knee contusion) not returning to the game was precautionary, and the Heat are returning home with every expectation that he’s fine,” Reynolds posted on X (formerly known as Twitter).

“He just landed awkwardly, but he says he feels fine,” Spoelstra said via Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel. “We’ll see when we get back to Miami. But as you saw, he was able to be out there the whole rest of the way (on the bench). I just wanted to make sure it didn’t go any worse, so I just kind of sat him from there.”
Miami Heat News: Tyler Herro could be back earlier than expected, per announcer
During the Miami Heat’s preseason game against the Atlanta Hawks, one commentator presented a positive outlook on Tyler Herro, who’s expected to miss the start of the 2025-26 campaign due to a leg injury.

“I was talking to the Miami Heat personnel, and they said Tyler Herro will be ready to go by the beginning of the regular season,” the Atlanta Hawks commentator said.
Until it happens, the Miami Heat will rely on Bam Adebayo, Norman Powell, Andrew Wiggins, and Kel’el Ware to lead the way this upcoming season. But first, they must build momentum by snapping their winless run in the preseason.
